monahan’s crab dip
serves 8-10 as an appetizer
- 1 lb. fresh jonah crab, or lump crabmeat (if using lump crab meat pick out any cartilage)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup jalapeño jack cheese, grated
- 2 t piquillo peppers or roasted red peppers, coarse chop
- 2 t jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
- 1 t worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 t tabasco
- 1/4 cup reggianno parmesan cheese, finely grated
pre heat oven to 400º. combine all ingredients in mixing bowl except parmesan and gently mix. spread out crab mixture in a casserole or baking dish. sprinkle parmesan over the top. bake for 15-20 minutes or until nicely browned on top. serve with tabasco.
