{"id":2412,"date":"2016-12-23t10:02:56","date_gmt":"2016-12-23t10:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/?p=2412"},"modified":"2022-02-13t23:04:17","modified_gmt":"2022-02-13t23:04:17","slug":"wild-gulf-shrimp-cakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wild-gulf-shrimp-cakes\/","title":{"rendered":"thai style shrimp cakes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>serves 4<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>mike monahan&#8217;s shrimp cakes are airy, light and delicious. he only uses wild gulf shrimp for optimal flavor.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 lb. wild gulf\u00a0shrimp &#8211; peeled &amp; deveined,<em> substitute maine shrimp if available (no need to devein)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>peanut or vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>3 scallions- white section with some green, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 t fish sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 t sriracha sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 t lime juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup panko crumbs<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 bunch cilantro- chopped (set aside for garnish)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>dipping sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup sweet chili sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 t fish sauce<\/li>\n<li>juice of 1 lime<\/li>\n<li>1t sriracha sauce- or more if you like it hot<\/li>\n<li>1 t rice wine vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 scallion- white section with some green, sliced very thinly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>pur\u00e9e shrimp in food processor and transfer to mixing bowl.\u00a0add egg and stir in until evenly mixed.\u00a0stir in rest of ingredients except cilantro &amp; oil.<\/p>\n<p>heat non-stick pan over medium heat.\u00a0add enough oil to cover bottom of pan about 1\/8 inch.\u00a0when oil is sizzling hot, spoon shrimp mix (about a heaping soup spoon full to make 2-3 inch wide cakes. i flatten them out with a spatula after adding them to pan.\u00a0fry for 3-4 min a side or until golden brown and just opaque in the center.<\/p>\n<p>serve with dipping sauce on the side or basted over the top and sprinkle with cilantro<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>this site has plenty of maine shrimp recipes. here&#8217;s another favorite, our fluffy, light and delicious maine shrimp cakes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":6146,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[173,435],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2412"}],"collection":[{"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2412"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2412\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/6146"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2412"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2412"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"\/\/www.bulkreeftv.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2412"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
